Spurred n Feathered
I was doing more the Charger thing yesterday but it seems we got beat down at home again. 78 point total? We will always lose when we achieve this total. We are door matting but the Division is relatively close net. The bottom isn't far from the top, if you catch my drift.

Kings Lay Waste
Still busy...we lost. Back to normal blogging next week. Everytime I think we are turning the corner towards a winning record we do this. Ron Artest's rap record is lame by the way. K Fed is worse though.

Net Gain
We took out the Nets at home last night. We have their # but nobody elses'! My blogs will be brief this week as I have the whole guest/work/Thanksgiving thing going on. Good job dudes.

DJ Jazzy Deron
Deron Williams scored 27 for the now 8-1 Jazz in beating the Sonics in Seattle. We have Golden State Saturday night in Oakland. Much improved team w/Don Nelson at the helm. And old dog always has tricks up his sleeve.

80 Sixed
I'm off to work so in short...we lost. A furious rally fell short and the 76ers took us out at home. Wait, do we consider the Key home anymore?
Heard one rumor that could affect us. The Hornets are drawing horribly in New Orleans and selling out Oklahoma City to devoted fans. Maybe New Orleans will beat Bennett to the punch and move the Hornets to Oklahoma before he has a chance to do it to us. I'm sweatin' this, I grew up a Sonic kid and I just couldn't see them anywhere else. Like the Rams in St. Louis, I have a few friends my age (45) residing in the LA who root for the Rams because as kids they grew up LA Ram fans and couldn't root for anyone else. My one buddy says this,"Root for the team, not the city" I'll take both thank you.

70 Sixin'
Maurice Cheeks returns to the familiar confines of Key Arena having visited many times as former coach of the Trailblazers. He brings his team in on a 3 game losing streak and practicing defensive schemes to slow down the Sonics and keep them under 100. A shootout with the Sonics is always a dangerous proposition for any team. We are not a deep team by any means But we have depth enough to beat Philly. Hopefully a decent home crowd will come out to welcome home the road warriors. Not bad, a 3-2 road trip. Showing some heart. We'll see which Sonics team shows up. Would be nice for Luke to keep his numbers consistent and high. He would be a welcome addition to lessen the burden on Allen and Lewis. Wilcox needs to do this also. And keep up the high rebound totals Chris. I guess we are 3rd in the NBA in total offensive rebounds. Nice. Lets get em!

Luke's Career Night and a Cast of Others
Luke Ridnour played like an All Star tonight scoring 32 points and making the last 4 points, all on free throws to clinch the game and hold off a furious Nets rally. Also had 7 assists and 2 for 4 from the trey line. And a solid 100% from the charity stripe, 8 for 8. And Chris Wilcox contributed, dunking a few with some sting. Chris scored 22 as did Ray Allen. Wilcox had 9 rebounds too. Rashard Lewis grabbed 11 rebounds, 9 defensive and put down 27. Thats what I'm talkin' about!
Vince Carter led the Nets with 38 points, Kidd had 20. Nenad Krstic added 21 for the Net cause but it was not to be. The Nets got it down to 115-110 with 38 seconds to go. But Luke drew a foul from rookie Marcus Lewis and calmly sank two more free throws to put it out of reach. Team showed poise and beat an Eastern Conference "Power" team. Now we get to come home and prepare for the totally beatable Sixers in our house, our possible lame duck house. Please stay in Seattle. What will I do?

Smokin' Outta the Gate in Jersey
The Sonics are doing well early in the game against the Nets...keep it up...more coming...shootin' for that elusive .500 mark and beyond. We once led by 28 in the 1st half. Steady play and point sharing by the whole team. Keep it up in the 2nd boyz! No let up! Killer instinct. Crown they're asses, go ahead! We knew what...wait thats football. Maintain pressure and let's come back home with a winning road trip.

Our Net Worth?
Monday evening in East Rutherford NJ, what could be better? Been to what was then the Brendan Byrne Arena back in the 90's, kinda blah. Crowd was sparse and the Nets beat the Sonics.
I really did play a little ball with and against ex Net center Billy Paultz. And tilted a few beers with him too. He was a "local" at Main Beach, Laguna Beach, CA back in the 80's. Even bodysurfed with him. Didn't inhale with him. My buddy Chip and his brother Colin and I beat Billy's team in a 3 on 3 tourney once. We wuz mad bombing from 3 range and hit literally everything. Billy was awesome from outside too. I guarded him a few rounds, ummm, I'm 5' 11". Got torn up. His ass in my face pretty much. You'd grab him and shake, he would soft roll these little shots way above you. But Colin was an all star college guy and 6'5", and Billy was older, still great mind you, but Colin was quicker. He'd take Billy to the hole or beat him, and if Billy went down low, Colin would kick it out to me and Chip, trey ball city. I didn't have a job and surfed and played basketball all day, year round at the Laguna Main Beach outdoor courts. A stunning setting, beautiful surf, women, lotsa beer and no responsibility, ah, to be 21 again. Billy told ABA stories and he was funnier than shit. Kid like. He was like 38 or so and I think just retired. He was our peer and we were all late teens to early 20's. he made a big impression on me. I played against World B. Free, Benoit Benjamin, James Worthy, Paul Westphal, the list is long. Those were the days my friend. Drinking all night at some cool beach party, meeting many turista hotties who loved jobless surf rat hoop freaks, and paying for they're jobless asses, beer bongs, wake up, surf, hoop all afternoon, eat. Rinse lather repeat...1982 for me. I'll never forget it. I even had a beer with the infamous OJ Simpson before he murdered his wife and the waiter at Las Brisas Restaurant in Laguna Beach. Yeah, that's how I roll baybee, swimmin' pools n movie stars!
We have a true test tonight and will need to break 100 to win I feel. Light it up from the get go and don't let up. This would be a nice win. Let's do this thing.

Killed the Cat, Then the Bird!
To the bitter end. Never give up. The green and gold finally got they're last second oppurtunity and took advantage. Ray Allen made a lay up over Josh Smith with 1.2 seconds left on the clock and the Sonics avoided anymore last second drama and won in OT. Two game road winning streak, albiet against non elite NBA teams. Though the Hawks may be a better team come mid season. We'll see. But we did snap a Hawk four game winning streak. Ray nailed 33 and scored 14 of them in the 4th quarter and OT. Rid had 19 and Wilcox was solid rebounding with 15. Spread the wealth. Can't be poppin' off or nothing yet. We lag at center, oh Swiftie where ye be? Too bad.
Also, these are our first back to back road wins since last January against Phoenix and Utah. So I don't take any road win for granted against any so called level of competition. But a real test looms Monday night, the NJ Nets. Yep, that state. Springsteen, the shore, Bon Jovi...DEH VULS! And the Nets are somewhere between all of those. Get one in Joisy.

Cat Killers
We won in Charlotte, a road win for our club is a welcome thing. Ray & Rashard added 26 and 19 to the cause. For the Cats, Adam Morrisson fizzled in his 1st start, shooting 3 for 12 and being kind of invisible throughout the game.
Trailing at halftime, the Sonics were given an effective halftime verbal breakdown by coach Bob Hill. Gave a little to Rashard and he said he and the team responded to it. Hope you got another Knute Rockne in ya tonight Hill, the Hawks are soaring. Playing beyond expectations while we play what I feel is below ours. Nice win.
The NBA's other NWest team, the Blazers showed heart and clawed back from 27 down to win by one over the Hornets. Zack Randolph is playing all star caliber and the team is winning back fans here in Portland, nice to see. Also kudos to Travis Outlaw with 16 points, some great dee, and some critical and timely steals.
Let's go for 2 in a row in Atlanta, it can...and WILL be done!

Gonna Fly Now
Tonight we play the giant killing Hawks. In recent history beating Charlotte was giant killing for Atlanta. A feel good story so far. I'll be dialed in and write a short entry later after the game.
Update: I totally forgot about Charlotte! So this is for Saturday. Oh well.

Get Out Of The Kitchen
We lost. Just from reading the box score looks like D Wade beat us. My praise of Luke in the earlier blog fell on deaf ears. He played 26 mins. and scored 3 points.
Of all people we were done in by James Posey who nailed a 3 with 19 seconds left to win by 3. Seemed like we had time after his shot, wonder what we did? Scoring seemed balanced amongst the Seattle starters and bench except for Luke and Johan. Sorry Luke. Get em' in Orlando. Shaq did sit out and we had the lead at the end of the 1st half. We are given these oppurtunities, should've won this. Damn if we weren't sporting a 6 point lead with around six minutes left.
From South Florida to Central, we are in Orlando against a better looking Magic club. I'm sticking to my road trip split call. Nick Collison contributed. We ae worthy, we are worthy. Somewhat. We score below our offensive average we lose. And reaching average in no way guarantees anything. We are averaging 111. We were well below that. C'mon guys.

The Heat Is...ON!!
The Sonics take a four game south eastern road swing and the 1st one is a proving ground. We take on the current NBA champs in they're house, a somewhat depleted and year older version of last year's Heat but hey, the season is early so they have time to change the early course they have taken. Last I heard, Shaq was maybe. We both sport 1-2 records and we have 5 more in other ports o call after this.
Seattle is one of the top scoring clubs in the NBA, but one of the worst defensively. Ray is on his usual team leader in scoring and Rashard is doing well also. A good surprise out of the gate is solid play of Luke Ridnour. He had 22 and seven assists against the dreaded Lakers. I love to hate and beat LA. Smarmy Kobe is great but about as real as a $3 bill. Also we went on a tear on 3 pointers against the Lakers, making 12 and leaving LA in emerald dust. It's early but that was a sweet win. The opening loss at home against Portland hurt, we should beat that team. Although they are improving.
And what's up with the Jazz, they are playing gangbusters. We have a tough road ahead, the whole year. An annoying little rain cloud follows us wherever we go. Cause we could be gone. Yee Haw to Oklahoma City! Hate to say it, but if they move, Portland may become my team. Or uh...Paul Allen becomes Seattle hero, nails an arena deal and moves the Blazers to SEA Town. Stranger things have happened. Hope we keep our original team. We have a decent history in Seattle, and one championship and two other Finals appearences. We are worthy and Seattle is a bit fickle, but we have true green n gold diehards out there, don't we? Stay in Seattle!
After tonight we hop upstate to Orlando. Then Charlotte & Atlanta, these 3 are all very winnable games. Be happy with a split on this trip. We play a very solid New Jersey team next Monday. The Kidd will be in our faces. Can we be somewhat successful road warriors on this swing? Recent history and our horrid defense says no. But if we shoot it out of the gym we can get 3. Too bad thats what we have to do is win. Let's get chemistry boys.

Is This Worth My Time?
Wondering if it is even worth it to type a blog nobody will read. Now that RB Bloggers is another forgotten AOL entity. Already been dumped on by Jamie Mottram at Pigskin bloggers and this site was forgotten before it even started. Oh well, people seemed to read this blog and Deadspin.com picked it top 3 in the nation last year. AOL sucks and I'm so glad I don't pay for it anymore. They use you then hire unoriginal sportscaster types and pay them $$ to blog. Assholes. Got 2 years going on a 3rd for free from me. And no offers were made to me. Just see ya and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. Felt like a Republican who didn't go along with the spin.
Anyway, we gave one up to the Lakers in their house and hopefully we'll get it back in ours. My time is on the Bolts Blog till seasons end, then I'll kick out a better Sonics blog, readers or none. No matter what the record is.
I live in Portland, OR and the big thing the sports station is doing here is an ugly contest between x Blazer Ha and current out for the season Sonic Swift. It is in poor taste and almost raciast towards Ha. They get on Swift's back zits and such and Ha's protruding teeth. Uh, the teeth. Remember Bugs Bunny WW II cartoons? Stereo typing. Screw you the Fan in Portland. Buncha white elitist bastards. Your raciast and insensitive sense of entitlement whitey's! The kind who throw out the "N" word in white company but stop when a black person enters the room. Shame on your sorry white asses.
It's gonna be a tough year and the OK thing over our heads won't help. Who wants Starbuck's?
