Ground Control to Major Tom...

Wilcox is the new found Sonic dunk king. He played well with a few dunks, but as a team we collapsed. Just when you think we can get a good thing going we fall flat. Its been the story of the season. Houston came out on an 18-4 run and never looked back. I'm done. Nothing more to say about this debacle.

AbbyGo to Supersonics.com and vote for the Sonics Dance team and this beauty named Abby. They are by far the hottest. We are good at something this year, like looking hot counts. Uh...where is Paris Hilton when you need her? They need some votes to overcome Sacramento, c'mon, Sactown. Prospecterville. Biggest cockroach I ever saw in my life town. We must overcome . Like our own American Idol. Vote for fun. And to forget a dismal year.

As much as I detest the Kings, I like this young kid, nice sign. The Lakers suck bro, we all know it.

BEAT LA THIS FRIDAY!!!

Memphis Blues for the Griz

.03 seconds left and who is shooting for the win? Ray Allen baybee. Scored the last 5 pts. of the game and the all important game winner. Talk about clutch, and on the road. And not just Allen was good, the team banded together for an all around great effort. the wealth was spread. Seven Sonics in double figures, 10 of 19 treys, and picked up 25 fast break points. Nice.

Pau Gasol had 44 for the Griz! Heartbreaking result for the home team. They had been on a 7 game winning streak. Good road win, any road win is precious. On to Houston for a match up with the Rockets, or was that Rockettes? At least the Sonics dance team is #1 in the West, woo hoo. They are super hotties though, so congrats. Hope you win it all and then make a fortune on a calender or something. Pau Gasol sorta looks like a 7' Matisyahu. Yo, yo...yo yo yo yo!

A postcard to the Griz, something to remember Seattle by for 2006. I always love these game winning photos, the moment after. The looks of disbelief on the hometowns fans face, priceless. But Memphis is doing something we wont, going to the playoffs. Congrats on that. Hopefully you can get past the 1st round this playoff year. Good Luck. Banzai Ray, crosshairs on the heart, lights out...the party is over...but only for tonight for the Griz. They are playing for something. Were playing out, but hopefully will finish strong. We'll see.

KISS ALIVE

Tony ParkerCombinations of 3's work. Bruce Bowen got a taste. Give me some. I realize we are out of the playoffs. San Antonio had a lapse in our house. I'm stoked on the win. KISS ALIVE '76 is something I chose earlier in the day, as I sold falafels on the street. Just all came out to work out. I wake up and work. A game keeps me going. Today was Sunday. Make of it what you will. Give me a freakin' PBR. Ray Allen whupped his nemesis, Bruce Bowen. 33 points. Last seconds. I'm out on a Sunday workin'...why? None of my schools is in....cept the one that offered me some in tennis...and is in the final 4...UCLA Cool. Back to the NBA. HA Ha...we beat the best. I knew today we would win. The Sonics that is. I'll check in later. Ray Allen...oh...a little Luke. I have to work tomorrow on a planned day off. Take the weather...roll into spring. And fuck everybody else.

Spuriffic Team

Like the ficticious dancer Tony Manero (Heyyyy...I'm Vinny Barbarino...blueprint for Ashton Kutcher in That 70's show 25 years later!) has to fight, scratch, kick and claw to become what you see above, why? The lead dancer in "Satan's Valley" a Broadway dance production, super cheesy, like "Cats" meets "The Starlight Express". But like Tony the Sonics must beat all odds and dance the lead...sheeeesh. Its all this "American Idol" and "Dancing With The Stars" culture making me write this. I've gone to the well one too many times and the Sonics are undermining my creative flow. But it can be a double edged sword. For while Tony lands the lead in the musical the movie "Stayin' Alive II" , in real life his career goes into a tailspin that would take a decade to recover. We only need one night. It would make a statement to beat the defending NBA champs. Don't count on it.

Nug Up

Earl WatsonWatson to the hole. Who would have thought x Sonic Reggie Evans would come back to haunt us. Not known for scoring Reggie scored 16 of his 22 in the 1st half. Amazing. Swifty had a double double with a career high 17 pts. and 11 rebounds. We were a sickly 4 of 24 from the 3 point stripe.

Melo is the man, that knows what he's been missing, hey a Led Zeppelin lyric. Melo drilled us for 31. Luke had 18 with 8 assists. Spurs tomorrow. OUCH.

One last thing, my beloved UW Huskies were eliminated from the NCAA tourney last night. They were robbed by officials when Brandon Roy had to sit early with a technical and regular foul on one play. Chickenshit. Damn! We had them. They played they're hearts out. Two painful losses foe Washington schools. Zags was very painful, watching Adam Morrisson melt to the floor like the wicked witch. Painful to watch. Sticking with the west now that my schools are out. UCLA...U-C-L-A! More miracle finishes on the way? I salute the Zags and the Dawgs run in the tourney. Referees got it out for the NWest. 1st the Seahawks in the Bowl, and mad ticky tacks on the Huskies last night. Anyone for conspiracy theories? Ha! It still sucks though. Represent West Coast Bruins, show them Easties what up in the college hoop world.

One of the 2 best college players in the nation and they are from the NWest baybee, believe it. Brandon Roy slams one down against Stanford. I swear I was listening to ESPN radio the other day and some show interviewed the Stanford Tree mascot! Hilarious. He was sent packing by the NCAA women's tourney for something outrageous he did, can't recall what. The Tree sounded like he was on the chronic...tree that is. Burn the tree, burn the tree!

Spider Man. His new pencil thin mustache gives him the John Waters "stud" look. Or did he just chug some chocolate milk? Anywho, if your an NBA team, you want him. Portland would be nice, where I live. Or better yet, Seattle. I'll take either one in Seattle. We got game in this corner of the country, get used to it.

Bucks Blast

Chris WilcoxPC is straight trippin'. WE WON!

Chris Wilcox is turning gold for the Sonics, leadership, high fly, and a career high 30 points VS the Bucks. I like this guy. I thought he was a regular player, he is mildly outstanding at this point and may be headed for more. This acquisition could pay alot better than expected dividends. Oh, and Earl Watson has been no slouch either, playing very strongly. Bet Memphis would like him right about now, funk soul brutha! Check it out now...funk soul brutha. Fat Boy Slim reference...cool. We get a bit of chemistry with these two as a binder. Its been working 50% of the time since they came on board. I salute youse guys.

A somewhat disturbing photo. The Sonics mascot, tired of playing 2nd fiddle to the Mariner Moose and his leg breaking antics in the old Kingdome and now Safeco Field, snowboards down an aisle at the Key. How northwest of you Squatch. Why aren't you called "Sass" instead? The bummer about the Sonic's mascot is he has a mustache like Matt Houston and a mullet that rivals Joe Dirt! He must be an 80's bigfoot. Rock on Squatch. Squaaatch or Biaaaatch!? I don't care much for mascots but rawk on Squatch. Keep the San Diego Chicken's legacy alive! I have read that mascots being attacked is an epidemic. Mostly by kids. Kicks and punches in vital places. You can have it.

Andrew Bogut in this years fashion faux paux, stretchy tights. Bogut has taken it to new heights. His "Moe " haircut is jet black like his tights. Imagine Rodman, he would've had airbrushed stretchies or something. Bogut kinda looks like Angelica Houston in "1001 Dalamations". Nuggets tomorrow, get ir done.

King Crowning

RayAllenMy pc is fritzing hard, it may be in it death throes. Affecting my blogging. I'll try. To many problems to list and I'm broke too! So I'll keep putting a band aid on this one. Kinda like putting a band aid on a gunshot wound though. We lost in Sac Town. Would type more, but after I'm signed on 40 mins. it gets "busy" and signs off. So frustrating, like the Sonics season so far. Probably have it remedied this weekend. Milwaukee tonight. Get on track, season is damn near over.

Luke goes Kareem at Arco. Artest whupped all. Bibby beat us down. Wilcox had a solid game for us, again. Back to Back with the Bucks in town tonight.

SWEET 16, WASHINGTON & the ZAGS

Sonics off till Tuesday and I told all earlier. Its a shout out to collegiate hoop. The UW. Gonzaga. Get small. Corner yourself elsewhere, to the NWest. Trust in UCONN? Get small. Never in the Nwest do we care about your media size. This is beatious.

#3 Brandon Roy...and a cast of characters better than u know. East coast pimpin nuthin'. Oh...wait.

Sean ye rule. Beards? BITE ME EAST!

Sixer Squeaker

Luke had 7 assists and the Sonics are 6 of they're last 11. Not great, but better. Philly had a six point lead half way through the 4th quarter untill they were shot down by a sharpshooting Ray Allen. Allen picked the right time to go into high gear, scoring 12 of his 26 points in that decisive 4th quarter. And the guy I underestimated, Chris Wilcox putting in 17 and one was a resounding, comeback starting rim rattling dunk!

Rashard LewisBesides stealing the 76'ers inbound pass with little time remaining to seal the game Rashard Lewis nailed 4 three pointers in the process. All in all a solid W. Heard Swifty did a good job on dee on Webber in the 2nd half. No game till next Tuesday. Hope the players get some time off.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY EVERYBODY!

Brotherly Love?

AI pimpin' the Charger jersey, right on. The answer, eh? We'll see. Cuz he isn't playing, so what is the question. Philly just tooka beat down from Toronto, although the Raptors have improved a bit in the 2nd half of the season. We can and should win this.

Shootout In The O Key Corral

We lost to one of the better teams so I won't hang my head yet  Sixers come to town Friday.

Along w/Sam Cassell, supposedly was a Madonna boy toy in the 90's. We still look better than most of this season so far. Playing .500 ball in the last 10 games, I'll take it for now.

Sonic du Soliel

The Suns semi limp into Sea Town to take on the Sonics tonight at the Key. Actually they are on kind of a roll, but just suffered a crushing defeat in Portland. Taken to the woodshed by one of the leagues (hey, are we one too?) worst teams, the improving Blazers. I'm going to stay low key and not go overboard, but I'm excited. We seem to be coming together a bit. This is a test. We could get run out of our own gym but I think not.

Two Phoenix locals on a hike in the hills outside Phoenix. Mmmm, Phoenix baby fat, fat n tasty!

OUR HOUSE...IN LA!

Ray AllenBOOM!

I was on the street, sunny day, selling my wares...the game was on TV. I never work Sundays but I had to today and damn! But it wasn't going to be too bad, I had it on radio, or so I thought. So I'm making a little scratch, and 12:30pm rolls around, the CLE/MIA game is ending on 1080 The Fan here in Portland, OR and what comes on? A freakin' Mariners spring training game! I was so bummed. And I missed out it seems. A rare road win and against the dreaded LA Lakers. Nothing better. BEAT LA! My mantra. Today we did it.

And the most unlikely hero was Ray Allen. You say he always leads in points scored for the Supes. Today he played dee. And he D'd up on Kobe...huge. Kobe had 22, good for anybody but him. Held him scoreless in the 1st quarter, not bad G.

Let me eat crow on acquiring Wilcox...he can play. Above the rim.  Seems every photo I see of him he is up there, in the air. And Watson is solid, really good. They are helping. I thought the trade was like trading pawns in chess. But we are a better team for it. And playing better as a unit now. Wilcox and Earl had 21 and 14 pts respectively. 'Cox also had 10 rebounds. Watson 8 assists. Sorry guys, I misjudged your talents. Thanks for helping my favorite team. Much appreciated. Rashard added 26, he seems to be hitting that consistently. Overall, as a team we shot 59%! That is sa weet.

Look in the lower right hand corner. Do you see that? Pressure Dee from Ray Allen. And Petro harassing from behind. Rookie center Petro scored 13, a career high. Vive la France! If the Lakers have Smush, they should have another nickname for Kobe. Who was named after massaged cattle by the way. My nickname for Kobe is "K Smarmy". I admire his talents not his melon. I just love to BEAT LA!

The truth is...sit the f*ck down Jack. Cuz today you can't handle the truth. You want to talk star power Jack? Rumor has it Sir Mix A Lot AND the Bass player from Pearl Jam will attend the next game, so there! Pearl Jam has a new CD out, or its coming. I've heard the 1st single "World Suicide". Nice. All hail Seattle, music 4ever, and never die! Actually, grunge killed LA hair metal, thank god. Warrant and Winger HATE Seattle! We went to the Staples Center, and left with an unexpected victory. YEE HAH!

This is a birthday gift to me from the Sonics. To us. I turn 45 tonight. Ouch. No more Tiger Beat issues for me. GO AL AGE...ITS YA BUTH DAY! Maybe were on to something mo bettah? I'll control myself. Control optimism. Reality looms. Or is it fading? Keeping the faith.

A park bench in LA. Goodbye Lakers. The new "2nd Team" of LA. I just dig the win. Its like when the Chargers beat the Raiders, that good. I know with the Sonics record I shouldn't be dissin'.  But not a Laker fan...nope.

Play that record backwards with a scratch. We know it was a good day...no AK usage. But...the Supersonics beat the Lakers. Deal with SWA Cube, Sonics With Attitude.

Late Game Storm Troopin'!

Ray AllenOK, so its neck n neck in the 4th. Trading baskets untill its 90 all. And then...KA BOOM baybee! Hammerdown. We close out the game on a 17-6 run. I was watching on the gametracker on the pc. I was cheering the pc! Granted, its the Wolves but take it where you can get it. It was so fun, seemed like it got playground fun with teamwork thrown in. The Wolves have a better record than us. I'm not going to go overboard when I see a "Sonic surge" untill its 10 games in. Not after 3 games but I truly thought I saw something untill we got clobbered by the Griz after my horn blowing blog where I ended up the fool again.

Sunday, national TV...the dreaded, blow time, sparkly sideline...

Hopefully we can give Kobe and supporting cast a beat down.

Fool's Gold

My pc is wierd today. We suck. Beat MN!

Graceland Grizzlies

"Gentle Ben", the new moniker for the Grizzlies since Damon Stoudamire went down. Since that day, Jan. 30 when they were 23-11 they have gone 10-16 and are crawling back to .500 we are creeping toward it. We seem a little energized I must say. The Sonics have looked tougher the last 5 games or so. Back to the photo. In the 60's the wooded version of "Flipper" was a show called "Gentle Ben". It starred Dennis Weaver and Clint Howard. Clint Howard was the rodent looking brother of Oscar winning director and "Happy Days" actor Ron Howard. I think they are both aliens myself. Ben was the bear and to my knowledge he was a grizzly. He kicked the bad guys ass and wrestled playfully with the boy...hmmmmm. You wonder why Iam like I yam?( unintentional Popeye reference, cool) Its because I watched this kinda sap as a 5 year old! Hey, this is a basketball blog right? Lets talk some hoop and tonights game...we are gonna crush the Griz I believe. I'm trying to believe in some positive Sonic magic...magic? I'm reduced to hoping for magic? NO! We are turning around and this is the beginning! I hope...in all reality.

A strange photo, Patrick Ewing in Sonic green. But my lucky # is 33 so I thought I'd include it for a little luck. The Sonics match up well with this team. Luke Ridnour has been invited to Olympic tryouts and I think he'll make the squad as a role player. Play the role tonight Rid, dub figures in pts, assists and maybe 4 steals? I may have been wrong on our trade a few weeks back. Ever since the new players arrived (the triple W,Wilcox, Watson, Wilkes) maybe not directly due to they're good play, but a newfound unity perhaps. Rashard and Ray will shred Memphis tonight I feel with a solid supporting cast. I have failed to mention the injury to Nick Collison and he will be out a month or so. That hurts a bit. Also we got rid of never playing guard Brunson, don't remember his 1st name. Don't remember him either...sorry Rick. Was that it? The Grizzlies are still out Damon Stoudamire, for the year I believe. He is looking at the Trailblazers to buy, with investors of course. Good luck Damon. The foil and the weed and the airport. I don't care about weed, but wrapped in foil going through a metal detector...just plain dumb. Damon, didn't you ever see the movie "This Is Spinal Tap"? Just plain embarrasing, c'mon, you were stoned...werntcha!? Sonics in a blow out...the re emergance. The "new" beginning. Sir Mix A Lot of 1 hit fame but a resident Seattle rapper said it best, but I'll make it plural for team. Let's Get Sprung! Go Sonics, don't make me look the fool again, otay?

Biddy Biddy Smack!

Remember in the beginning, hip hop was infused with...uh...Jazz. The beginning of the 90's that is. Biddy Biddy Bop, who was that guy? As good as some of the tunes were it faded from popularity. But the Digable Planets were on it, Cool Like Dat. If only for one game, we slapped the taste from a team's mouth. And it was the Jazz from the jaws of hip hop, and crushed by the rage in the machine. The Sonics...dismantling like Quai Chang. For real? Holy shit. I'll take it. We be to Key Be Like Key Be to Lock cuz 2 nite we R Cool Like Dat!  This is temporary confidence infused by good weekend falafel sales and the true shock of me checking the score after work and going to myself...WHAT? For real? I knew we could win but by 31? Thats kinda been not in the norm lately.

OK, let me see. Did all 12 Sonic players play? YES. Did they all contribute? YES. Uh, did 6 score in double figures? YES again. In dramatic runaway fashion, spectacular dunks, breaks, all of it.

So, is it a new attitude? Like the Tony Montana tude before it took about 1000 dudes to demise him? We will see. It would be nice. This is only one game but let me milk it.

No matter how bad the record...I FEEL GOOD!!!

Kirilenko is Jzzed

Andrei KirilenkoThe Sonics play the Jazz 2 night. Heard a great bit about Andrei K. His wife gives him permission "to do" one woman outside of her per year. I'm on board dude.

Bad Street USA

I remember back in the mid 80's, the fake wrestlers "the Freebirds", yep, after the Skynyrd song. As part of they're schtick they talked about the neighborhood they lived in, it was called "Bad Street USA" and as one of them would scream at Mean Gene Okurland. "We live on Bad Street USA and the farther down that street you walked the badder it got. We lived in the last house on the dead end!" The Baddest! Here come the Pistons, my prediction has them going to and winning the NBA Title this season. And they are the bad ass. Look out Spurs, you drew blood and now must pay. The Sonics have they're work cut out for them. I'm a homey but this looks bad from the bell.

Sheed leads the Detroit crowd in a rendition of Y-M-C-A! Sheed does kinda look like the cop in the Village People, only taller. And better behaved than the cop. The cop is on the run with a fugitive warrant on his ass. The construction worker ended his career by posing for the Brawny paper towel label. And no offense to Sheed, does anyone know about the side head bald spot? Is it road burn? Someone tell me. Sheed rocks, don't kill me dude, just joshing.

The Sonics, coming at Dee Troit like freakin' Gigantor. Or will it be the other way around? Thunder...Thunder...Thunder Cats...HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Gonna hopefully lay a beat down on the Pistons like Liono. We can hope, can't we? GO SONICS!

Engage 1 Game Winning Streak

Hands down, Chris Paul is this years Rookie of the Year. Better things, we won a game. Of course had to make it dramatic. Allen had 33 and Lewis 25, same old. Best story of the game.

In tribute to Kriss Kross, aka Mack Daddy, and Daddy Mack. Pimpin' hoes at 14. In a totally crossed out mode, rookie Swift played the 1st half with his shorts on backwards...cool. Me n Swifty gotta listen to some Sgt. Pepper's backwards and move the team forwards. Nice Swifty, me so lika da herb too, mon. Not really, I didn't inhale. Next up, the mighty 8 Mile, Pistons. Fire it up.

Hornet Buzz Kill

Had a great blog written for the victory. My pc froze and I lost it. This is filler. I'm writing one for it now, won't be as good. Damn, it was good. It had been so long.

Earl WatsonHe's baaa aaack...uh...big deal.
